Hi, I’m Brittany Wuthrich. I’m an author-illustrator from Nashville, TN. When I’m not drawing in my sketchbook with a fine liner and portable watercolor kit, I’m usually googling recipes and trying DIY sewing projects (not always successful in those attempts). Oh, I’m also chasing around a 4 year old and a 2 year old as a stay at home mom.
I love telling stories that address big feelings in a lighthearted, if not comical, way. I like to remind readers that it’s okay to be silly and that being different can be an extraordinary gift.
That’s why my first self-published project BIRD AND THE TREE is about grief through the lens of a bird who can see something scary in the distance. It lightly addresses the stages of grief: bargaining, denial, anger, depression, and acceptance. When the bird realizes it must move on to survive, it finds a strength that was always there to help it find a new home.
